Hi Everyone,

I am designing a memorial tattoo for my boy. Having a dilemma. We have an amazing tattooist in Vancouver, BC that does amazing single line, text, photorealism but not known for his portraits. We looked at the book for the ‘portrait master’ that the shop has and I wasn’t impressed. Our tattooist does amazing 3D work with insects and animals.

Should we use him for the portrait or find someone else? I’ve read that photorealism doesn’t necessarily translate into talent for portraits?

Any comments, feedback, referals for portraits in Vancouver?

Thanks,

Kitsilano Kitty

Skill in any one area doesn’t necessarily translate to skill in another area. Find someone else.

btw, since you’re in Vancouver, got any work from Steve Moore? ๐Ÿ™‚

I wouldn’t get a portrait done by anyone unless I’ve seen plenty of examples of good portraits done by him. There’s too many bad portrait tattoos in this world for that.

Everybody’s gotta start somewhere, but I would NEVER want to wear someone’s first portrait ๐Ÿ™‚
