I’m looking to get my first tattoo very soon, it is being drawn up and will be ready for me to look at in about a week. It is going to be a rising phoenix from my upper back to my mid back, I’ve talkedto people from two different parlors and one was going to make sure there was black lining so the different colors don’t mix together over time, the second said that that would not be a problem but if I wanted he could include the lines.

I’m going to the second parlor and want to know if it would be better to include the lining (like to separate the feathers in the wings and the flames from the body).

Thanks for the help.

A little black line wont stop anything from “mixing” but will help with definition as the tattoo fades. If you take care of your tattoo and plan on getting touch ups in the future then don’t worry about it(you will need to get touch ups either way if you want it to look good) And get what you want.
