I’m getting a mhendi style back design in about a week and really wanted it in dark brown ink instead of black, I think the brown ink lends itself to the design as it looks more like henna. I don’t think my design will work so well in black and I’m a big fan of more earthy tones anyway. The design is all line work (no shading) and made up of vines, flowers and a main central bird in flight and I guess about 15cm x 30cm
My artist has advised that there could be problems with brown ink over time…and possibly irregular fade, detail breakdown etc, Anyone had a dark brown tattoo that has stood the test of time well??
I’m thinking of a compromise and having a black brown ink, as I get the best of both then…sharp details with a better fade colour for me.
Please help with any advise, I don’t want to make the wrong decision but really don’t want to get this design in black.
