Hi, I plan on getting a tattoo on palm of hand, but I also need to swim everyday. I read that a fresh tattoo needs some time to heal and it would be best to not swim. Now my question is, can I wrap my hand in something and still swim without damaging the fresh tattoo?

im not wanting to sound rude here….. but……

why the fuck would you want a tattoo on the palm of your hand??? normally only seasoned tattoo artists or collectors get the palms done…. plus if you have already had tattoo’s done then you would know that the artist will tell you never to cover it up again once you have removed the original dressing they put on it.!!

rant over…. off to read the boards 🙂

I’m thinkin that palm tats tend to degrade quickly anyway, and would need frequent touch-ups so swimming would maybe just accelerate that. Chances are that you will not be able to keep the water out and the chlorine will take effect.
Why do you need to swim every day? Are you aquaman?
