I’m getting a tattoo soon (for my birthday next month) so I’m starting to get to the nitty gritty with the details. I have a way in my mind that I want it colored in but I’m not sure how to describe it into words to plug it into google.

What I want is basically like fat strokes that doesn’t color in perfectly and it might go outside the lines a little bit. I’m sure this style has a name, can anyone help me out?

Hi Tara

What Outlaw is hinting at is that is polite to do an intro and brief bit about yourself before jumping in and asking for help.

The forum is more of a community over resource only site. 😉

That said I believe the term is abstract shading?

Or do you mean the type where they just do a wavy band of colour through the object like on many prototype fashion drawings?

Hope that helps a little.

Take Care
Matthew
