    Hey guys – new here.
I recently got my outline colored in at the Chicago Tattoo convention by a very respected and reputable artist. When I came home, I noticed the shading on the portraits looks very red, and overly dark. I immediately called my artist, and he calmly told me that it was a combo of:
    1. Blood under my skin as it’s irritated
    2. It would lighten up dramatically when it heals (say 1-2 months)
    3. The shading lines wouldn’t look as carved, but rather more smooth when it healed.
He seemed very confident, buy my personality is one to over worry, so I figured I’d bring my question over to you all. Pictures included are from today which is the 3rd full after the tattoo.
    Thoughts?
