Hi everyone – just got some new work done today on my quadricep (thigh), probably 4 or 5 inches above my knee. It’s all black ink. It’s tingling. Has this happened to anyone? I couldn’t see there being nerve damage, but I could be wrong. Is this just the healing process, because it is a rather large tattoo.

Any input would be great!

Oh, the tingling comes and goes. If that matters.. I’ve only washed it once and applied Aquaphor lotion to it afterwards.

Never happened to me. I wouldn’t apply anything to it for the first 3 days as its still an open wound. Just keep it clean (2-3 times per day) and let it air-dry before rewrapping.

Not really any redness on the tattoo itself, but some red around the tattoo, I’m assuming just from everything being irritated.

I had some tingling and a lot of muscle soreness when I got my small ankle piece. The guy who did it was very heavy-handed, so that might have played a role. I haven’t had any tingling with my other 2 tattoos.
