Hi, I have just had a tattoo done on my leg in Samoa, the traditonal way..the bruising and swelling were nearly as impressive as the tattoo..but now 5 days on, the brusing has subsided, but i am left with a lot of ink staining on my leg..i am pretty sure this is not a ‘blowout’ that people talk about..it is in the big spaces of non-tattoed skin between some big bands on the leg…will this disappear??, what can i do to help it to go?? i have been washing and scrubbing regularly..

First of all I wouldn’t be scrubbing it. Second, can you post a picture so we can see?

To me it looks like bruising. i wouldnt sweat it. congrats on the ink. Have you had ink done by machine? If so how would you compare the two.

i know it may look like bruising on the pics, but im 99.9% sure its not, as my whole upper leg was extremely swollen and bruised, and the bruises are now in their yellow/purple stage where as this ‘shadow’ is still blue/green…i jus want someone to tell me it will go with time!!!

i have had ink from machine too, and other traditional tats from borneo, i love the tradtional way, although this Samoan one was crazy painful..i think the machine can do finer details ( i had a fish hook put on the end of this one cos they couldnt do curves with their traditional tools), the detail is definitely finer…
