Probably a bad idea. First of all it takes time to heal, so you’d have to be really careful for a long time with playing rugby etc. A piece of tape won’t protect it from a proper tackle. Nape piercings are notoriously hard to heal and putting it through extra trauma will only make it worse. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it!
