Hey all!

So, what can i tell me about me…im 21, M and from Switzerland.
The reason why im here and why im really interested in Tattoo’s is, i had a fucking hard past.
I’ve walked trough the bigest shit in the last 3 years. I’ve lost so many things in my life…
But now ive started a new life and things getter better and better.
Why im telling you guys this? Yeah because, personally for me is a tattoo an art form which you tell you something what happens, or what you want, or what you ARE in this world/your life.

Ive also a question at you guys: Im looking for a tattoo, that shows me that ive been through this shit and im starting my brand new life with a different and better person.
Anyone have got some ideas for that tattoo im looking for?

cheers,

ben90

Welcome to the forum

A koi fish represents overcoming adversity if you’re into Japanese tattoos. If would suit your situation well, but they’re pretty common. Maybe you could start there and add some more personal things to the tattoo.

Welcome!

That is such a personal topic, its not easy for anyone to give any ideas without really knowing you and what you’ve overcome. You really need to find something that is a symbol of what you have overcome or what your life is now.

That being said, there are a ton of traditional images used for overcoming struggles, one of them being the koi fish as stated earlier. I believe in japanese mythology the koi fish struggles to get upstream, but if it is successful, it changes into a dragon. So some people have both images on one tattoo, or one only. It could be the koi to symbolize the struggle, or the dragon to symbolize the change into something strong and powerful that has overcome adversity. Or get a half-sleeve and has both!

Maybe even a sunrise for new begginings? Just stay away from quotes would be my only advice. Those never seem to work out in the long run.

Try finding a good tattoo artist in your area. Go in and tell them what you are thinking, and they will help you come up with a design. The good artists love doing this stuff, its why they do what they do. You’ll need to give them a small deposit to start the design, but it will go towards the cost of the tattoo.

Good luck, and let us know what you come up with! Post pics!

hi briscogun,

Yeah, i know they ARE tons of images i can use it…but…i want something special.
I’ve found a good artist. I was at 4 tatto shops, and i think ive found the right one. He know hes job and he was a nice person to. My first picture in my head when i was thinking about doing a tatto was a Blackbird. I dont know why but, i hade the feeling when i was down and had bad luck situation over and over again, it felt like a “Blackbird” or something “follows” me and dont want me to be happy. Now i think i have chase the BlackBird but he will be always a part of me…of my past. I know this personally, but tattoo isnt for me a thing to do just its looks good…i like a history behind it
PS: Sry, for my english, its just my school english.

cheers,

Ben, your English is actually better than most people that were born and raised here!

Sounds like you are well on your way to coming up with a great design! You’ve got a basic idea and you’ve found an artist you can trust and who will work with you. Maybe you could have the blackbird (raven?) clutching something in his claws? Dark clouds parting in the background? I’m sure you’ll come up with something awesome.

Good luck with it, Ben. Make sure you post up some pics so we can see it when you are done, okay? Glad to see your troubles are behind you and you are moving forward.

Make sure you read all the aftercare forums, too, so you can keep that new ink looking good!
