This is my first tattoo.
I was a little hesitant to post pictures, but I really like the way it’s coming along, so I thought I’d share.

That’s pretty badass. Pretty hardcore piece, as well as location. How long were you in the chair total up to this point?

Thanks guys, I really like the way it’s coming along. So far I have about four and a half hours in. :]

My tattooist is Mike Schweigert, he’s fantastic. He’s an incredible artist, and a really nice guy.

Oh, and yes, it is my first piece.

Thanks :]

Well, I’m a huge nerd, and love history and got the inspiration from medieval religious art,. The name for the scene is a hellmouth, and they occur semi frequently in the medieval time period, and a little bit in the renaissance. The particular inspiration for my tattoo came from woodcuts done by Lucas Cranach and Pieter van der Heyden.

1) that tat is NOTHING to be shy about. It looks really good and it looks really good on you. Don’t be shy!

2)Those pics are pretty sexy.

3)No matter how much you explain to me about the hellmouth being historical and religious the ONLY reference to me is Buffy the Vampire slayer, the TV show. Now, you can deduce a few things from this. One, I’m a huge nerd. Two, I’m probably nerdier than you are and Three I was disappointed to not see Spike in you tattoo.

Okay. So I said I’d post pictures in a couple of days, when it’s not so swollen and gross. But I lied. I’m going to post pictures now.
