Yo. Semi-inspired by Mr Chen’s threads showcasing tattoo artists around the world I thought I might do something similar. I came up with a rough list of some great tattoo artists who specialise in the traditional “American” style. The majority of them are located somewhere in the States but I thought it would be something different to most of you guys are into.

Anyway here’s the list: (I chose not to include photos because there is toooooo many! Worth Googling them all 😉 )

Andrew McLeod
Bart Bingham
Bert Krak
Chad Koeplinger
Cris Cleen
Dan Santoro
Dave Maynard
Dave Tevenal
Deno Jr
Eli Quinters
Franz Stefanik
Grime
Heath Nock
Ian Dana
Ian ‘Bugsy’ Christensen
Javier Rodriguez
Mike Adams
Mario Desa
Matty D’Arienzo
Myke Chambers
Nick Collela
Rachi Brains
Ross Nagle
Ron Henry Wells
Peter Lagergren
Scott Sylvia
Sarah Schor
Steve Boltz
Steve Byrne
Tim Pausinger
Tomas Hooper

Erich Foster at Rise Above Tattoo. Very well respected all over the world in his style. He’s very pre-Sailor Jerry Americana.

Yeah but still a cool little list representing great old school tattooing, at least I’m lucky to have been tattooed by one.

I’ve been tattooed by a couple. A holiday planned for the States next year includes going to Smith st and BHR.

unforunately this list is actually relativey unhelpful as we cant see the artwork or know where any of them are based unless we’ve already heard of them lol any chance of altering the list to add their location and a link to their online portfolio so we can sneak a peak? i know it sounds seriously lazy but google is effort for that amount of people! lol

Well I thought googling to find their facebook, blog, tumblr, myspace, website etc would be simple enough but I’m sure I can do that. Give me a chance to add some more.

The original post may become long though 😀

Thanks for the list mate – you can’t go wrong with trad work

Some of this fine line stuff will not last 10 years but good traditional will last a life time
