I currently have this tattoo and although I like it I am getting older now and I want something “bigger” but also “more art like”.

I have been searching for months for something to get over this and I think I may have found an easy solution. I was going to get it removed but sometimes they don’t always turn out good and that’s a lot of $. I was thinking of getting a tribal tat but I don’t know if mine can be covered? Here were my ideas.

Something along them lines. Would a tat artist or anyone be able to tell me on here if this can be covered with that before I walk into a tattoo shop and ask to get this drawn up? Please let me know 😀

And also, tell me if you all like the idea

If you want to get tribal over it I would recommend going to a shop that is very skilled in cover ups. A lot of smaller or less experienced artists make the mistake of just covering black with more black and no matter what the old tattoo will show up as there will be more black pigment in that area from the old ink adding to the new ink.

The best cover ups I have seen tend to use ellabrate lines and coloring to help hide the old tattoo and thats mostly do to the black ink issue.

    Hi

Terg is right you need a cover-up specialist to stop it looking like a dogs dinner as many older tattoos can shopw through the ink.

My advice is rework the tattoo with a fresh outline and shade and you can always add a celtic or tribal effect around it.

It is a lot cheaper and to be honest nothing wrong with the cross that a bit love wouldn’t cure.
