it feels rough and flaky and i just want to wash that off, but i know it’s part of the healing process. how many times a day should i wash it? should i wash it with antibacterial soap once a day and baby soap once a day? what have you people WITH tattoos experienced?

My advice. Wash it in the morning with savlon wound wash spray after a shower, let it dry for 30mins, apply your Vitamin E cream (I use palmers with cocoa butter). Apply a little more Vitam E around 4 or 5 o’clock. Have a shower at night before bed, wash with savlon wound wash spray, leave to dry for half an hour, apply vitamin E cream, allow to soak in (approx 1 hour or more) wrap in cling film and sleep.
Repeat until healed and keep applying the Vitamin E for a couple of month after if you like, is good to keep feeding the skin after a trauma like this.
Only use clingfilm for the first 3 nights max (I do for 2, sometimes 3), better not to at all than more than that though.
