    At the moment im drawing / tracing a Koi for my arm but having a little trouble with the background shading.
    Can some1 please advise me what the normal background is called? Im not even sure if there is a word for what its called or what..Is it meant to be clouds? water?..Please help…

    I believe there called wind bars??

    Sometimes the background for koi and traditional japanese tattoos are black and grey scale clouds. Hope it helps.
