Hi everyone.

So I’m 33 years old, in the Buckinghamshire area ( Milton Keynes specifically)

I have been interested in tattoos and tattooing since I was in my teens. And have always considered being a tattoo artist as a “dream job” type scenario.

The dilemma I have is that I have lived on my own since I was 18, and as a result have always needed to be in steady paid employment. So quitting work and taking a full time apprenticeship has never been an option for me.

Im now married, have a mortgage, and have fallen into a career as a designer. (Not a bad job at all, but it’s 90% meetings and office politics)

I feel like if I don’t try to get my foot in the door with tattooing soon, it will probably never happen. So I am working on putting together a strong portfolio.

I’d like to gauge opinion from people in the industry how likely finding a part time apprenticeship spot would be? Or should I just accept that unless my circumstances change, it probably won’t happen?

Thanks for your time and sorry for the essay.
