Well, I don’t think he’s conservative, but it’s definitely worth mentioning:

celebrities would be a good thing to add in to your paper.

You might want to try to get ahold of a copy of “Modify” the movie. It has a lot of practitioners in the body modification field and it’s a fascinating documentary on modification of all kinds. As long as you can stand a little bit of blood, anyway.

You should probably research Fakir Musafar. He worked in the very first piercing parlor in the US, and now is very famous in the modification community. He talks about the religious/spiritual nature of body modification. It’s very interesting and informative as for why body modification should be more accepted in American Society.

That should give you a few ideas anyway, good luck!

You can go there and see celebs and public figures who are inked. I don’t know about famous conservatives, but you can flip around there and see if you can find someone. If they are known for being conservative then eve if they had a tat they would probably keep it well hidden from the public.

I think tattoos and piercings becoming more acceptable just have to do with them becoming more and more mainstream. With more people not afraid of the inked stigma they are showing them off a lot more. As with anything once you’ve seen it for so long it just becomes common society. In the next few generations I’m sure it will become even less of an issue. As people have gained more freedom of expression it is more acceptable to show off body modifications. Kind of like when it was a huge deal for women to be allowed to be shown in the media wearing pants. When people currently in their 20s and 30s are senior citizens with tattoos the younger generations may not be able to comprehend why it was taboo then. Hope that helps!
