Hi all. I’ve never had any ink done and had never really considered it, but over the last couple of years, this painting (or rather the story it depicts) has come to have enough significance that I’d like to get it tattooed on my calf. I’d lose the background, obviously, but I’m still concerned with the amount of detail in the skiers themselves. I’ve seen stripped down logos based on the paining and they just don’t feel ‘right’ to me, so I’d like to keep it as close to the original as possible. Would it be feasible to keep it somewhat realistic looking on such a small scale?

Unless you’ve got fairly meaty calves, I think you’d lose a fair amount of detail. However, if the size posted above is ok, then I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to maintain a simialar level of detail to that.
