One of my best friends died of cancer last year. He was a musician and two of his songs were called “Shooting Star” and “I Will Always Remember”… I want to get a tattoo on my chest, over my heart, of a shooting star with his initials (BB) inside, and underneath have the words “I Will Always Remember”…. The problem with this is the fact that I’m a guy and I realize a shooting star is somewhat of a girly tattoo. If anyone can think of a way to make it more masculine or as I like to say, ” badass.” If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated, I’ve been wanting to get this tattoo for over a year now.
You know what would really be badass? If you man up and stopped worrying about what other people think. The most pussy, ball relinquishing thing you can do is whine that you’re afraid other men will think you’re less of a man for doing what you want. Just get the damn thing.
Oh, and ps, your design, as described, is not in fact a girly design.
By the way, I have a very visible tattoo that reads “I feel pretty”, and no one gives me any shit about it anymore because I ain’t embarrassed about it–quite the opposite in fact. Besides, it’s not like yours will even be able to be seen all that often.

With regards to the shooting star you could have it wreathed in some flames that peter out along the tail.
Other ideas is that you could have it wreathed in some thorns or have a jagged effect.
Maybe even have it as an abstract shooting star.
You really should not worry about the whole issue of ‘maniliness’ you know yourself and should be confident in your own masculinity.
The tattoo is important to you and should be as you want not what others dictate it to be.
On my backpiece I am going to have some cherry blossoms (I like them and also do flower arranging as a hobby). My friends rip the piss but as I said I am a huge, knuckle scraping, ugly bloke. The fact that I may like to arrange flowers and have a few blossoms tattooed on my back is not going to change a thing.
Also I don’t care what they think as many of them are too soft to get a tattoo anyway. 🙂

Um, you’re worried about a shooting star on your chest and your name on here is “little debby”? LMAO Dude, get the damn thing and screw every other person on earth. Although I have to agree with Sherav…maybe making the star and its trail more jagged may help…and the coloring will as well.
And my old artist had stars tattooed as sideburns…and he was a BIG dude…totally tough and completely not girlie. Get you memorial and screw the haters.
