I love downloading music, but I am going to college next week and I just bought a new laptop for school. On my old computer I have limewire, Soulseek, Emule++ and DC++ to download music, but I’ve decided to take no chances with my new computer since I will be under the university’s watch.

I will not have any P2P programs on new laptop, just the music from my home computer.

However, I’ve recently discovered a technique that can tweak google to search for music on websites and download them from index. Is this safer than running a P2P program?

Also, I’ve heard that you only get caught if you’re caught uploading. Is this true? I am not a huge music downloader, but I do download about a few songs a week. I would like to know if I’m putting myself at a huge risk.
