SPOILER ALERT!

At the end of the film where the beginning of the film is repeated, I understood it as Laura re-living the last time she was happy. She was reenacting that moment (e.g. styling her hair, wearing the same white scarf). But the scene that we, the audience, see is the very first scene repeated, not the older Laura re-living it. Ok, I’m getting closer to the question. In the beginning, we see Laura looking at Chris and smiling and the scene cuts. At the end, however, the scene runs longer and we see that Laura starts to cry.

Question: Did she cry the first time? Was she already unhappy and she would’ve had all these problems but with Chris? Or, is the crying Laura only in the second, imaginary scene?
