Here’s a few pictures my girlfriend took last night while we were in New York City. She loves it there during Christmas with the big tree and decorated store windows. We also got lucky with an amazing sunset with the statue of liberty in the foreground and a menacing gunboat patroling the harbor.
I think everyone should try to get to NY at least once in their lives. I’m fortunate to live fairly close although I don’t like it at Christmas time as much as my girlfriend. During the holiday the crowds are nuts and its just too congested for me. It’s hard to move sometimes walking the streets and I don’t have much patience.
I’ll be honest, NY at Christmas drives me freaking nuts! I like the city but during the holiday it’s just too crowded and I really don’t give a damn about seeing a big tree and some lighted windows. I went becasue my girlfriend and her sister and husband wanted to go and I can navigate trains and subways so I got dragged along. My favorite part was the sunset and a nice meal at an Irish pub in the East Village near the Obscure/Oddities store.
