When your expensive watch starts to slow down, it is probably because of a dying watch battery. Your watch needs battery power to keep running. So, when you find that your watch is not keeping time as well as it used to, you may need to change the battery. You can repair your watch yourself in such cases. This does not need any expert watch fix knowledge. Watch fixing may sound like a big task but is not really all that complex.

If you are looking for self watch fix, ensure that you have every essential tool ready before you start. It is a good practice to do that so that you are not halted halfway through the job which can be very frustrating. If you do not have a set, try to get one from the internet. Ensure that the set contain screwdrivers, tweezers, pliers and nippers. You need a clean cloth to wipe away dirt on the watch components as you work on them. You can also lay the small components on the cloth to prevent it from getting astray. Although cleaning solution is not necessary it would be good just to have one. You can use it to clean the delicate components in the watch. Take precaution on the solution as it is harmful to your health. Apply the solution with a cotton wool head toothpick. If you don’t have one, just roll some cotton wool the tip of a toothpick to form a head. Use normal toothpicks to clean small holes.
