I just got this traditional gypsy tattoo the other night. It was done at a cool shop in Brooklyn, NY by Ron Wells.

Interesting comment on the rose. I tried debating with him about doing it more realistically but this is the style of flowers he likes to do with old school tattoos to fit the piece. It’s already grown on me, I like it’s uniqueness.

I thought that shop was really cool and it was in a cool NY neighborhood, worth the 2 1/2 hour drive. I’ve got 7 tattoos from 6 different artists, I love the experience of meeting different artists in different types of shops specializing in specific types of art. To me it’s all part of the tattoo experience.

I think if it were more realistic it would draw attention away from the face. It’s a nice balance the way he did it.
