i’ve been wanting a tattoo for ages, only a small one on my ribs, no bigger than about 3 inches, its of a swallow, a small rose and a few words in latin… most of it will be black. any ideas on how much it will cost? and how long it could take? thanks.

Hi, The studio i work at in the UK has a minimum charge of £40 and for what you have in mind and without seeing it i would guess roughly between £40 to £80 GBP, BUT that is only what the studio i work in would charge.

Most GOOD tattoo studios are $100 an hour to $200 an hour. The one I use happens to be $150 an hour. Sounds like your tattoo will be at the hour mark or less, so I would say between $100 and $200. Probably closer to the $100 mark.

Advice? Do NOT bargain shop! You GET what you PAY for! My CHEAPEST tattoo was $125, and my most expensive was $600. Look at the portfolios, look for reviews … WAIT until you can afford it. And good luck!;)
