Definately some shades of red would suit skin colour. Possibly gradient shades in general, like lighter or darker shades of your own skin colour.

I’ve read similar posts throughout this forum and others too. Personally I think a tattoo is pleasing to one, and rejected by another (most tattoos are).

Some, such as myself would prefer a tattoo thats personally to them or representative of an important aspect of their life; others prefer a tattoo as simply a piece of body art.

This would definately look awesome with a few touch-ups, maybe some shading or highlighting. Planning on getting some color? Personally I like no color but thats me being kiwi lol! A fair point you have about constant public scrutiny when dealing with facial tattoos, it may depend on the reasons you want to get one in the first place. I’m from New Zealand and from a native maori P.O.V I’m finding them quite popular here, but it is heritage and acceptable, but I agree too, prepare to be stared at for the rest of your life.

I haven’t experienced this myself but a friend of mine has before. He has a NZ Ta Moko tattoo along his forearm. He was working prior to getting the tattoo, his job didn’t like it and they eventually fired him. His Ta Moko was of his family crest (something to wear with honor and pride). I try not to stare at the tattoos that are in more provocative areas of the body lol 🙂 but in most cases, if I notice a cool
tattoo on somebody, I usually just ask if I can have a quick look – I find alot of people who are quite willing to show off their tattoo, they’re usually very proud of their own tattoos! 🙂
