I have writing on each wrist and im having a henna type pattern added around them

But i really fancy them in brown so i wondered if they could go over the writing in brown and would it cover the black??

Nope.
The only thing that can cover black is more black.

Hi

You would have to hit the writing with a laser to lighten the colour and this could be very expensive.
Try and incorporate the new tattoo with the old one, perhaps have some highlights added to the writing?

Otherwise as mentioned usually only a darker shade of, or same colour pigment will cover black.

Thanks for your advice

The tattooist recomended having black and then grey as it went through the writing so it looked as if it was behind it but i just fancied the brown so it will be back to him to discuss another option then
