I would like to get a tattoo in a place that I can hide, and only show off when I want it too. Being from a highly devout Christian family this is important. That being said, I was thinking on the top of my foot. The question….I’m a guy. All I have seen are girls getting tattoos on their feet. So would it be “gay” of me to get a tattoo on my foot? I dont know…would it be similar to a guy getting one of those tramp stamp things?
I just got my degree in herpetology, and would like a small lizard, particularly a gekko. I have a design picked out, its a small, goofy, chartooney design that I really like.
I will be getting one on the back of my calf around November to memorate my other love of life, so I would like to keep my legs open for that. I’m shirtless a lot, so upper body is out of the question.
Any ideas?
No I don’t think it would be gay to have the tattoo on the top of ur foot, I know plenty of guys that have! don’t really know any other hidden places to suggest, u could always have it on ur bottom 😉 joke!
I think I’m getting it on my leg now. I’ve talked to some people. They all say its “girly” And I’, going to get a real lizard now, not the cartoon one.
Hi Longslide
The issue of getting a tattoo on your foot/lower back is not girly, gay, soft, or stupid.
A tattoo is just art where you have it is your concern.
If you are going to get an opinion on something get it from an expert or somebody with experience in the subject – esp with tattoos.
There is no point in asking somebody their opinion if they do not have any ink themselves as they maybe already predisposed towards a negative attitude to subtley put you off getting some ink.
My advice (for what it is worth) is get it on your thigh not your foot.
My reasons for this is down to practicalities;
Feet tattoos take a lot more damage as they are rubbed and exposed to a lot more friction on the skin than your leg would be.
Feet tattoos hurt more – for a first tattoo try an avoid something right across the bone – the thigh has more meat.
A thigh tattoo is much more easy to cover. You will be amzed at how often you will be in barefoot situations.
Good luck with it and post up if you get it done.
Take Care
Matthew
Hey Longslide, This may seem a little out there, but the fact that its a lizard lends its shape and natural ability to twist and turn to the ear. If you have longish hair position the image behind the ear following its natural curviture not only is it hidden but when required put your hair in a hairtie and there you are “voila” just a thought, let me know how you get on, good luck Hoani.
