So I’ve been want to get a second tattoo,my first was the ankh symbol, and now i am positive i want the eye of horus some where on my neck. But i am having trouble finding what exactly I am looking for to show an tattoo artist. Ive seen alot of eye of horus tattoos and symbols and i am sort of a Egyptology buff on this stuff but I am not sure how the eye of horus, which the left eye not the right, would be properly be inked. Whether its facing what way like the left eye or would it be mirrored? Plus I am looking for an ideal spot on my neck so that i can put my hair up and have the tattoo showing but when i put my little longer than shoulder length hair down, it’d be hidden.

    Hi

As you are likely aware they tended to depict the right eye as it was from th Wedjat or Udjat (first sun deity) that Horus developed from in the pantheon of Egyption worship.

The right eye was somtimes to represent sun god Ra and the left the moon god Tehuti if I recall correctly.

The left eye depeicted the moon so really it depends on what you are seeking to represent

I would suggest checking though as my head is a bit rusty of Egyptian mythology.

The top of the neck or just a bit lower is a good spot.

    Take Care
