The tattoo artist had warned me that hand tattoos sometimes wear out very quickly…
But I just got it 4 days ago and I already can hardly see the glow under a black light.
A couple hours after getting it I just had it in the same room as a black light and it would glow fairly well.
Now I have to place my hand an inch away to get even a slight glow.
Is this simply part of the healing process (and it will brighten after healing)?
I get a free touch up…
I’m going to make that bastard drill a lot deeper if this doesn’t end up being a temporary problem.
Hi
My first thoughts are it is still healing and may not have fully settled into the skin – takes about 10 days.
That said black light ink is notoriously difficult in getting to stay in the lower dermis and sometimes travels or lumps up – it is not like other tattoo pigments.
My advice is to let it heal and see if it needs a touch up afterwards.
If you suffer any brown scarring, red lumps or blistering do not get anymore done your body is rejecting the ink. (Rare but can happen).
Take Care

jeez why are you calling your artist a bastard lol? Tattooing hands is a risk you take when getting one, all my clients get one touch up for free, but they are always warned before hand. I would say regardless it will need touching up. I have a celtic wedding band on my finger and its been gone over twice now in 3 years and is looking like maybe another wee touch up is going to be needed. Havent used UV inks but im going to try them out, getting a little head lamp built for me 😀
