    That’s strange, I coulda sworn i’ve seen tattoos there before too… hmm, your tattoo artist looks like he knows his stuff though, judging by the detail and quality of your ink. It would be a shame to leave that little piece unattached though…

    Hi Mike

    In answer to your question ink can be done inside the armpit and was the favoured part of many medical tattoos in the armed forces for many years.

    The reason it is not suggested is because of three reasons;

    1. There is a collection of lymphatic glands (they help produce antibodies for your immune system) in your armpits and inside the groin and thigh area. These clusters are highly sensitive and can massively inflame and become swollen if you get a tattoo there.

    2. The ink does not always stay in there as well as other parts of the body – this is similar to the palms of the hands and may need touching up more often.

    3. There is a problem with infection – the armpit is one of the main breeding ground for bacterial as it produces a copious amount of sweat – this is even with anti-persperiant and may not be visible to the naked eye.

    Also as a last thought you would likley have to shave your armpits often to see the tattoo ๐Ÿ˜€

    I agree with matthew. it’s not that it cant be done. It is just a harder area to get to take and will involve a lot more touch up. I usually charge extra to tattoo in that area cause I know it is gonna take at least a couple extra sessions to make it look right.

    Seems to me, with this being the case, his artist should have moved that part of the tat up some or be willing to do it anyway. It looks unfinished the way it is.

    He’s talking about that little empty bit above slightly above his armpit isn’t he?

    yes you can tattoo in that area with no problems at all, the only problem you have is that the two parts of the dragon are different thicknesses thus wouldnt match up properly…. you could get something like wind bars going into it though at some stage ๐Ÿ˜‰

    To clarify my earlier post.

    I thought he meant he wanted a tattoo in the actual armpit itself – not the band of skin above it.
    Yes you can tattoo on that small bit as Outlaw rightly states.

    My bad – sorry ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    You are right I have failed ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
    I guess I had better retire from answering questions and head back under my rock.

    Getting shit wrong I can cope with but surviving KH’s gloating is too much to take.

    :p
