I literally just got a tattoo on my rib. Before getting the tattoo i checked online for tattoo aftercare instructions and for the most part a lot of the instructions were similar (i.e. remove bandage/cover after a few hours to allow tattoo to breathe). However, when my tattoo was finished, the tattoo artist stuck some sort of clear adhesive on my tattoo and advised me to keep it on for 3 DAYS (and after 3 DAYS, to wash with antibacterial soap and apply A&D). I am not sure if I should take his advice on this one because 3 days with a clear adhesive over my tattoo seems pretty long to me and goes against what I’ve read online. I am also in Japan, so I don’t know if that’s how they heal tattoos here.

Should I follow the tattoo artist’s advice or follow what I’ve been reading online?
