Just got my first one done yesterday and am in LOVE with it.
Amazing artist did amazing work =]
He gave me all the aftercare instructions- but just one quick clarification question…
I am currently using the A and D ointment and was told to do so for a few days or until the tattoo starts to scab… now, finally the question:: Do I start using the lotion at the first sign of scabbing, or once the scabs start falling off?

Tattoo goo is the best ointment for tattoos. Every tattoo shop usually has it. I have 4 and used it on all of them./ The best care is to use the ointment of your choice from day one all the way up until your tattoo is completely healed. Do Not pick the scabs! It could draw out some of the ink and ruin the tattoo. (Don’t over worry if they fall off or get caught on something like your shirt sleeve, etc.) Also use the lotion for a few days after the scabs fall off. It will keep it moisturized. I don’t know where you got your tattoo at, but try to keep it out of the sun for a few weeks if possible too. Hope this helps!

i was told to use Aquaphor….and lotion AFTER the scabbing on both my tattoos…use lotion when its flat….your tattoo is basically healing, and an open wound…thats why you usually use an ointment at first.
