Hi all, its my first time here and I’m after some advice. I naively went and had a wrist tattoo of my childrens names a few years ago, just plain black, I am now regretting it as it looks messy the writing is uneven and quite thick. I don’t know a great deal about tattoos but am wandering if anyone can advise me if it can be tidied up or anything done to improve it? Is it possible to tattoo so it looks like its behind the names? A flower, heart something like that? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.x

Hello. We’d need to see a pic but my guess is laser would be your best option. With the wrist being a small and highly visible area, any additions would probably make it look even more messy.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

Amok is right, you are likely going to get best results by hitting it with the laser a few times to lighten it and then have it fixed/covered by a really skilled artist. Thick black uneven script is going to limit them too much, lightening it up will give you a lot more options. And then you can end up with something that you love.

A picture would help. Amok’s correct on the laser.
