Name’s Mike, from SC (USA). Haven’t actually had a tat done in many many years, but the bug never really left. Looking to get another soon, probably more after that unless I can resist the temptation lol.

    So anyway… Hi

They are addicting. I never wanted to be fully covered with them, but once in a while I would really want more. I only have two now, both very old. My first was… um… let’s just say that I picked it while on a beer run from the parking lot of a Grateful Dead concert lol. I do like it, but had I been more lucid I probably would’ve chosen something else. This was done in Charlotte, by John Raines (think I remember that right, mighta been Rainey, this was back in ’93). Class act, simple tattoo, I let him freehand it cause he came well recommended by a friend of mine who’d had a lot of work done by him (all freehand) and it was all very impressive.

My second was a spur of the moment trip to GA with a couple friends (it was illegal in SC back then). They did ok, but I really didn’t think they spent a whole lot of time defining the lines. Felt like a rush job, but once the needle’s in it’s kinda too late to back out. Plus they were working with my pattern, not one of theirs, so who knows if that affected it. The other guys just chose some trendy tribal blacks so theirs came out well, though I admit the last time I saw one of them it was a good bit more faded than I would expect even after 12 years or so.

Both, obviously, need to be cleaned up a bit and given a little shot of technicolor love. I want a new one before I fix those though lol.
