newbie here. my name is siddharta. like a lot of you probably are, i have an interest with tattoos and body piercing that some people might call UNHEALTHY, hahaha. my interest goes way back to childhood as my parents – my dad being a punk diskjock – had tons of tattoos, and they used to have some friends over and they had lots of tattoos and piercings, too, and that parade of color and shape was pretty consistent during my childhood, and it sort of made a lasting impression.

when i was a teenager i asked my dad’s tat guy to ink me a few on my arm. being underage at the time, he refused and we settled on me getting a henna tat of a tiger clawing out of my skin (yeah, a classic). it lasted for about a month (i just really refused to wash it off, haha) and i regularly had henna tats inked on me every few months after that.

and as soon as i was legal, i had my first true tat, a simple “design” from the poet william blake, one of his “Proverbs from Hell,” as a sort of love letter for my girlfriend.

i signed-up on this forum because being a fan of tattoos and piercings, i just wanted to have people to talk to about it online, share some designs, maybe talk about tat artists old and new and maybe unknown. i’m actually looking for a good tat artist for my girlfriend as she wants one for her birthday (yeah, share the love), and she wants it done by a female artist. she even wants a couple of piercings here and there, hahaha. i was hoping you people can help me? we live around san fernando valley, CA. we’ve been hearing good stuff about YONI TATTOO, and they reportedly focus on a strictly female clientele. any recommendations about them? pointers towards the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

hey, BK, thanks for the welcome. i have my parents to thank for my name, being new agers, haha. gautama buddha! he’s a very important person in my life, too. what sort of siddharta tattoo do you have in mind?

and yeah, i suppose it is easier for women to have their tats done by female artists. it’s just a bit hard looking for them here as female tat artists are difficult to come by in the first place, but if there’s one place to have at least *some* of them, it’d be here in california, haha, like in yoni tattoo.

i just wanted to know if there are people here who’ve already tried the place, just for further recommendations. we’ll go there probably next week, and maybe i can post a few photos here from the girlfriend’s first tat experience. exciting!

    again, BK, thank you.

my artist is very good at designing girly art so she is going to make it match my personality a bit more than just a statue ..
