hello guys, hope you’re all well and all that.
i was hoping for a little bit of advice..
i’m nearly 30 and have spent all my adult life screwing about what tattoo i want.
now i have finally found it! well, the general idea that is.
problem is I fear that i cant have it done 🙁 as it is way intricate.
i want something like a plant fractal. well, at least a good interpretation of a fractal!
i love science and find the visual renderings of mathmatical equasions to be beautiful and wonderful.
problem is finding someone who is not only willing, but also wants to take on this kind of design.
something along these lines:- (i especially love the ones that look very 3d)

so what do you think? possible or not? typical me to fall in love with a style that may elude me.
i’ll travel wherever i have to (within the UK) and pretty much pay whatever i need to.
if its a no-go, i can take it. i’ll just give up now and stop tormenting myself.
thank you, any comments gratefully received.

Hi
The fractal tattoo can be done no problem but you will need an artist who is both a specialist in portrait (really fien detail) and colour work.
Take those samples and they will do you one no problem – thing to remember is that the inks will not be able to match the vivid computer generation ones but can still be done in beautfully by the right artist.
Also need to decide on size and palcement – the bigger the betetr as easier to show more detail and will blur a lot less with age.
Take Care
Matthew
Hi Matthew
thanks for the reply 🙂
I have contacted a number of portrait specialists, and no-one wants to get back to me! maybe its just not their thing, but I will keep trying.
i’m going to have it on my back, offcentre with the ‘arms’ going across my back a bit, over my shoulder and down my arm, so I think, yes, it will be pretty big!
hopefully i’ll find someone who appreciates these forms, when i do, i’ll post pics.
thanks again

Did you have any luck finding an artist who would take this on? I’d be very interested to hear about it. Also if anyone has details on similar style fractal tattoos done by artists in the Seattle area..
thanks
mike
Have you tried Frith St tattoo? Or Jondix? Or Thomas Hooper? Don’t know if Jondix or Thomas will be out that way anytime soon but worth a shot. I would also suggest no color as I tend to advise, especially on intricate stuff like you want….it looks way way better and the detail can stick if done by a good tattooer! Let me know if you have trouble finding these tattooers or tattoo shop.
I’ve just started investigating this, so this information is excellent, thanks! I’m planning on taking things slowly and researching everything, just like the OP this would be my first tattoo so I’d like the best chance of it being done right.
