Ok, its nothing unique about saying “Im new here”, but I’am, and would like to get some ideas here if possible.
Never had a tattoo, but I do want one, just one.
I have been reading up on it, and one thing I learned is that a tattoo needs to be of something special, something that means something special to the one getting it.
I know what that is, I want to get it and really committed to doing it, but a bit worried about doing it.
Ok, I gotta lay it on the line here, its of a penthouse pet/model I always adored way back from her time 1996, so not just a passing thing. All I want is one of her face, no need for a full body tattoo(of her) , so maybe on my upper arm, not sure yet.
Really Im good with the idea of her vision marked on me, thats not the issue, and again its special to me.
I have seen so many tattoos of celebs, musicians, and even more crazy things.
Im not going to walk into any old place with a pic of a nude gal and ask for a tattoo, not what Im about.
I have asked friends, and they are unsure about it, yet they dont get it, for me it will be special.
To the point of my question, how do I go about it?
Getting the tattoo, how its done does not bother me, I just fear I might be laughed at for what Im asking for. Not like Im going to tell the artist who it is, but I still dont know how to ask for it.
I live in Kansas city, so any input as to who is good with facial tattoos I would love to know.
Again, Im not looking for cheap fast tattoo, I want it done right, and something I can be proud of.
Just that its done right, and I will be happy with it.

I live in KS as well. It’s really hard to find good tattoo artists here. I went to Texas for mine. Would you be willing to go that far? I can recommend some pretty awesome people if you’re willing. Artists do portraits all the time. You probably wouldn’t have to explain anything expect, “I want this girl’s face on my arm because she’s special to me.” They don’t pry… People get portraits all the time. I’ve not researched the Kansas City area but if you’re looking for something more local, I’d go to a place where people who have tattoos hang out. And casually start up a few conversations asking them where they got there’s done. And getting a pinup is not something to be embarrassed about really. It’s done all the time, whether it’s a modern picture or classical. You seem to be a very shy and respectful person which leads me to ask why you’re into this PentHouse “babe” in the first place… but I am not into prying either. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

Its just I do see many people with tattoos and have asked where they got them, but really nothing that stands out of a artist that I could go “wow thats it”.
Im not trying to be so foolish that its going to be a crystal clear vision of her like a clear photo, of course not, but I just want the best. Not like I have money laying around, but have been saving for this because it really means a lot to me.
Right now Im feeling fustrated, mostly because Im so ready to get it. A few years ago I thought about it, then I became more serious, and now Im ready.
Why her?
Honestly its a selfesh thing I guess, but she is just sorta was there and was gone, never did she do anything like you would expect a gal like her to do, so dont get me wrong, just to me a beautiful angel that reminds me of my youth and happyness at that time, and just my vision of beauty without going into detail.
I have never been married, but I have a special lady in my life(very lucky) now who was married, and she also supports me on this. Like she was married had someone special in the past, but agrees with me honoring who was special to me in my own way.
Ok, rambling on. Point being this gal really was and is all that to me, and need to find that artist who can pull it off.
Was thinking of maybe a tattoo convention here in kc, not even sure if there are any, and hire a artist.
Maybe I will need to travel somewhere else to get it done, but hate to spend that extra money, then agin if its right.
I just have to keep looking, but any input you have to help me please post.
Well Denver has conventions all the time… You may look into that.

Have you heard of LA Ink? Kat Von D’s ex husband is in Dallas also. His co-workers are a bit stuck up but I’m pretty sure he does some gnarly awesome stuff. I can get you in contact with him if you’d like.
The reason I didn’t work with him is because he’s a little hard to get ahold of and my artist is totally kool and laid back.
My artist was featured in Maxim Magazine if that tells you anything.
