Well, I am a Taurus if there ever was one, and I figured I wanted the Taurus symbol on me somewhere to represent that.

I had been working on a few tattoo ideas for some years, but last Feb. I just decided now was the time to get something small to start with, to see exactly how much of a p#$$y I was under the needle 😀

So I decided to get the Taurus, and started working with the idea on my computer, playing with the horns and such, and then decided I wanted it in 3D. This was the result of that:

I then thought a bit and brought it to the tattoo artist and told him to make it “Out of hand-hewn rock, that’s been lying outside for a few hundred years … or something”

This was his idea, and the stencil:

So we decided on a good size, and put it on the right side of my right calf. It’s 16x10cm (6.5×4″), and here’s the outcome:

It’s extremely difficult to stand correctly so that the circle is actually… circular, since there are A LOT of muscles there and they all change when I change my stance by fractions of an inch.

It took 2 hours from start to finish, including a lot of dead time when my guy was collaborating with another tattooist doing another tattoo besides me, and it cost me $320. The price there is a flat $160 an hour rate, but would today (thanks to all this inflation crap) cost any foreigner coming to Iceland to get inked a whopping $96 an hour
