I think it’s better, but it’s not my style.
If you like it, go for it.

That’s not better at all. If you want to create a background for it, you can’t keep it so confined within the outer edges of your existing tattoo. Any background would need to flow well AROUND what you already have. I’d say maybe nigh on twice as wide as it is now.

Your main problem is that the Disturbed logo you chose is dreadfully boring, and there really isn’t much you can do with it. Honestly, I’d recommend popping it a couple of times with a laser, and then getting a better Disturbed logo to cover it up, if you’re so inclined.

    Yours just doesn’t compare.

maybe something like this… color in the existing eyes red, leave the teeth skin colored, dark background, and since its on my forearm i could have the hands under instead of on the sides.

Sure, a good artist could. Be prepared though if you take that image to a good artist several things may happen:
He may say that he won’t copy another artist, let alone rework their work.
He may say that he will draw something similar if that’s what you want.
He may design a piece that fits you specifically.
He will probably charge a deposit if he draws custom artwork for you.
    It probably won’t be cheap.

    Good luck, keep us posted.

A competent artist could do it easily enough, but I don’t see that looking any good at all.

Better than I expected. Was it done by the same artist?

Not by the original artist. However, it is the same artist that did the tattoo on my shoulder.
