I was wanting to finish a half sleeve with the tattoos i have now, i have a poem on the outer back side of the forearm that runs from wrist to elbow, and also have praying hands on my forearm, and i am kinda running into some problems figuring out what im going to finish it up with. Ive been told to go with generic things, like clouds, rays, or something of that nature, and thats fine i just wanted to make sure before i went and got them, I talked to my tattoo artist about it and he basically didnt really help just said it was up to me. What im wanting to know is either some suggestions on what i could get or if it would look right or not. I have posted this on a few other forums and have been told that it wouldnt be appealing to get it finished because the poem is such a big tattoo. And also have had a suggestion of a ink well at the wrist with a feather quil coming out of it, and i really like that idea, because it looks like that could have been what wrote the poem. But if i got that what could i fill the rest of it up with. Thanks in advance to all who is kind enough to help.
Hi
It really depends on how you want to theme your arm.
The tattoos have an old world feel so parchment inkwells and quills would work quite nicely as you could have that with maybe some more religious symbolism.
Alternatively you could have an old world map done with a compass that shows a trail to the country of the author of the poem?
You could have more verses done that weave around the hands eg the Lords Prayer or any number of verses that could wrap around the outer edges of the hands and rosary and spread between the gaps.
The only barrier is your own imagination.
Take care
Matthew
