    I’m looking for the best artist to get my portrait done. Money does not concern me, only quality. I would love some recommendations, and any info would be great. This will be my first tattoo. Thank you

    nice photo , is it your grandfather ?
    money is not really too much of an issue as you may think because you can do your tattoo in stages
    get the outline done and then save up again for the rest .
    or just put a hold on your plans for a little longer !

    sadly i can not help with an artist but i didnt just want to read your post and run.

    Yes, Grandfather. When I ask about Miami Ink, people usually tell me their mediocre and there are so many better artists in my area. Problem is, they can never seem to tell me more than that. Thanks for your interest

    Not trying to sound like a dick;
    But try Google, lol serioulsy.
    Google diff. shops in Miami; and check out portfolios.
    Or better yet, when you get some free time travel around to diff. shops and have a look around.

    There is a reason why Ami hired Kat Von D. Her portrait work is awesome. She is no longer there, so it’s reasonable to assume that they aren’t too good at it and that there are better people out there.

    What little dealings I’ve had with the two TLC shows (Miami/LA Ink) leaves me to give you this small tidbit of advice, however:

    Go someplace else. The waiting list is shorter, the artists are less fake (sorry, but TV makes you behave differently) and you can get the same or better quality work for less money.

    I guess my answer doesn’t much help, but I had to let it fly anyway.
