I’m going to be getting my second tattoo soon. It will be an incomplete infinity symbol, like this:

    inf2.jpg

(but not with bad MS Paint editing, haha)

It’s going to be on the upper side of my left forearm. It will be placed parallel to my arm (so that if you were facing towards me and I folded my arms together, the symbol would look exactly how you see it in the image).

However, I’d really like to spice it up a little bit, but I’m not sure what to do with it. I was thinking perhaps some kind of twisting, multi-layered line border (not a circle; I’d like for the border also to run parallel to my arm — ie: it can extend further horizontally than vertically — if that makes any sense), but I am open to any kind of designs that would make it a bit more interesting. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a border. Any artwork would be great.

By the way, it represents the fact that life is not infinite, so it should be cherished.

Once again, anything would be appreciated! Thanks.

    Hi

If you are going for a border there is a lot you could do from tribal to knotwork.
Is there any particular message or phrase you could shape around the tattoo edge as the border?

My mate who is next to me suggested ‘Game Over’ so I slapped him hard on your behalf ๐Ÿ˜‰

The other suggestions are you could go for a coloured border that slowly fades into black showing that life slowly ends being brilliantly colourful to start as we get older it fades away.

    Take Care

I REALLY, REALLY like that idea! I think it would definitely fit the idea of the tattoo also, and gives the message of “life fades, so live every day to the fullest” (which is definitely the kind of meaning I have in mind). However, I’d like for the whole tattoo to be black, so perhaps I can get the artist to have one side of the border start out thick and bold, and then slowly fade into a grainier, dissipated look.

    Thanks for the great idea!
