Hey forums users, a few quick question.
    1) Does anyone on here have expierence tattooing knee’s//anyone have their knee inked?
2)How well does the ink hold?
3)Is it kinda like getting your elbow inked?

What I want is everything pictured above MINUS the skull…I’ll be replacing it with a heart. I want the heart to be centered on my knee and have the roses/leaves to just fall in place. The top of the dagger will fall on the beginning of my theigh, and I want the tip of the knife to stop just before an exisiting tattoo on the top of my shin.

Do you think it will work?

    It will tattoo the same as anywhere else with 2 exceptions;

It will hurt more on the kneecap area as close to the bone.

More care needs to be taken on the sides as it is not a flat area so when doing the petals or leaves take this into account when having the ‘dip’ done at the sides of the knee.

Apart from that you will be good to go like any normal tattoo.

Thanks Sherav for the quick responce!

The pain is a “right of passage” for me. I have my collar bones and my shin inked, so I think I can handle a knee cap.

Do you think it will look okay on the knee? I still have about 5 hours before I get tattooed. I am set on the design, just unsure about the location. I know I want it as a apart of my left leg sleeve….but just trying to think if it is worthy of being my center piece…what do you think?

    Hi

To be honest there are not that many knee tattoos about – it tends to be teh serious collectors that go for it.
That said I think as a motif tattoo it will look great on the knee and will be a great addition to your other tattoos.

I am partial to the old school styles.

Thanks Sherav for the “food for thought”…Ive decided to go with the piece I posted with the heart. I will post pics later today.

I’m a serious collector, just starting slow b/c I’m still young and putting myself through a private liberal arts college [$33,000 a year!]

I’m in the process of sleeving my left leg from the knee down [2 surrent pieces] and my right theigh from the knee up [1 piece on the theigh]. I have my last name across my collar bones, and will finish a chest piece from the collar bones to the nipples.

Good move – take your time there is no rush

IMHO there is nothing worse then people getting a full sleeve in 2 sessions (one to do the outline one to shade it)

Tattoos should be like a road map of where you were in your life at certain times getting a full sleeve in 2 sittings loses that part of true collectings charm
