There is so much discussion about inks and their safety, yet when you visit a tattooist and get freehand work or the stencil touched up, they often use a plain old Biro pen or felt tip type pen. This no doubt pushes the ink from the pen in the skin…
Can anyone share their views on this subject with me and is there special types of pens a tattooist uses for free hand.
Also out of interest what is the difference between a shader and a liner set up..? I heard the shader has to run faster… Or…?
Cheers guy’s
first of all, the artists normally use skin markers, these are like the ones that surgeons use to mark the skin prior to operations, these are sterile and safe…. also there is the discussion of they should only be used on one person because of cross contamination.
secondly.. there are a few things that differ between liners and shaders but these are only discussed in the pro section of the forum, none licenced tattoo discussions are not allowed sorry.
My guy has used a sharpie on me like a thousand times, and I turned out fine.
Though he *does* toss them out after one use for fear of cross contamination. But then again, this is a guy who uses that surgical tool sterilization bag thingiey to sterilize freaking q-tips.
Love. Peace. Metalica.
