I’m new to this forum so I just want to say hey to everyone and this seems like a pretty cool place. I’ll try to get a picture of my first tattoo up asap so you can see it (eagle head with grandparents initials under it on my chest). My idea for my second tattoo is something I’ve gotten both negative and positive feedback on. What I’m thinking is getting “WISELL” across the top of my back in some original font (not old english) and “802” under it but smaller. 802 is Vermont’s area code and I want to get it tattooed to show loyalty to where I come from. I know some people don’t like last names across the back (seems there was a big burst in them and they became the new tribal armband) but I think if done right it could look really good.

Anways, what do you guys think of that idea? For my last name i would want text that isn’t too plain, but don’t want it all swirlie or over done. And for the 802 I was thinking of getting the shape of Vermont as the holes in the 8 and 0. Debating color, but right now I’m thinking just black and white with great shading. Any ideas, suggestions, comments, question?

i like the sound of the vermont shape for the hole inthe 8 and 0 but i would only use it for the 0. may look a buit funny otherwise. levaethe 8 as is

in terms of having last names across your back. who gives a fuck what is in fashion now. if you want it done and it means something to ya then do it

Yeah come to think of it it balances out more having just the Vermont state in the 0 which is dead center.

I agree. Do you have any suggestion for a text type? That is my main issue I’m dealing with; what kind of lettering I want my last name done in. I’m thinking something with an outline to it and not overly complicated (like cursive/old english).
