    Hi all,
As a quick intro – My name is Dan, I’ve been tattooing only a couple of years, I did an initial apprenticeship (I would add this was very basic) I’m very comfortable with lining and shading and very proud of my work.
One thing I’m really struggling with however is solid black, large scale work! A customer is wanting a half sleeve blackout tattoo. I’ve been hitting it with an 11M2, setup for packing, slow speed, hard hitting using Silverback stupid black!
I feel like I’m working the skin too much and its struggling to hold the ink… It is also taking AGES to pack! I’m wondering if A) I’m not going deep enough, currently around 1.5mm – 1.8mm and also whether I should be using a bigger mag?! Any advice would be great.
Who knew it could be so tricky just doing a solid black tattoo!
    Thanks, Ciao, Dan
