Hello all, its my first post so please be nice 🙂
I’m really wanting a get a tattoo designs in order for me to show a tattooist however im not the type of person who can put all his ideas onto paper in a art form!
I’d love a bit of personal creativity going into the design however these are the main features i would like it to include (being placed on the bicep, can be innerarm/outarm/all around the bicep):
1. First and most importantly i would like the tattoo to be designed in a dot-to-dot style (link to a typical dot-to-dot tattoo below) however the design can be detailed as the lines connecting the dots can be done through uv ink (shows up only in blacklight) so you can venture further than just straight lines

2. I would like the tattoo to incorporate one (or more, even all) of the following ideas. A reference to sagittarius (constellation or symbol), the words “Geoff” and a date close to todays as i will be getting it done one day this year (can use different languages for words/numbers).
Love to hear some of your thoughts 🙂
Peace. Jason.
Hi Jason
First of all if you took the outline of the saggitarius design and the name a tattoo artist can trace the outlines and then place dots where the lines meet up.
You just need to decide on the font style and then the sagg style and they will combine that for you.
Secondly are you 100% about wanting UV ink?
The life span on them is a lot shorter than normal tattoos and you have to be damn sure they are phosphourous and heavy metal trace free.
The ‘safer’ version of uv/blacklight ink is actually used on fish and animals as a tracker – it was never meant for human consumption regardless of what they say in ads.

hi , i have a friend with a dot to dot tattoo he now wants to cover up because it was only funny for the 1st year .
also i just thought i would mention that UV ink is still seen as being risky so many tattooist dont use it .
Hey thanks for the responses,
I’m wondering, what is the lifespan of a UV tattoo?
And butterfly you’ve given me some serious doubt on whether to do the whole dot to dot tattoo, I may change it to a variation of some sort of dots (or other resembelance to stars) without the numbers next to them. However I am still very interested in the uv ink, are you able to touch ups with uv ink like normal ink is done or not?
Cheers,
Jason
the thing is , he has it done on the top of his arm to nearly his elbow and no joins so for a while it was his party trick to get some girl to join them together 😉
which was amazingly funny the 1st time … but now he has decided that he has wasted a great space on his body to have a large striking tattoo done and is working out what to cover it up with .
thankfully it will cover up quite easy because its just a load of small numbers .
fad tattoos are fun but age real quickly , the same friend has a mustache on the inside of his middle finger
so when ever someones taking a pic he whips it out and looks a twit
i think the star idea will be more classic and not age so fast . just my opinion 😮
The lifespan of uv ink is around 5-7 years some last as short as 2 others last 12 years before they stop glowing.
You can keep inking over them but you run the risk of having the tattoo going lumpy as the pigment is not the same as normal tattoo inks.
It can also scar a brown colour as well.
I actually wrote how I really feel about this stuff but realise it is not for me to dictate to others their choices.
Just bear in mind this – Bad choices in tattooing is like Russian Roulette with your health.
