Im having a hard time thinking of way to make my first tattoo into a half sleeve on the right arm. Im pretty open to a lot of designs but would like to stay towards the black/white. Im going in on saturday to get my current one touched up and would like to start work on whatever at that time. So far I am thinking of just adding some shading around the outter symbol some how, and just go from there. Any ideas?
Well, first things first, I’d get the black on that one almost completely redone. Not tying to be a dick dude, but whoever did that black work did kind of a crappy job.
The shapes of your tattoo puts me in the mind of a shoddy celtic knot, something like this:

You might ask your artist (preferably not the jumped up scratcher who did your first) to do your arm in a complex series of celtic knots, such as this:

Just an idea.

No offense taken, I know she didnt do a good job on it and wont be seeing her anymore to let her know. I plan to get the outline straightened and the black re-covered. Friends have gone to her for some of their work and it turned out great, her comment before and after doing mine was that it was the easiest one she has ever done. :confused:
God I hate that. I have a friend who went into tattoo the second he graduated high school, and some of his work is jaw dropping awesome, but most is complete and utter shit, and there’s no way to tell which way he’s gonna swing on that particular day.
Well, no way unless you’ve known him since childhood and can tell how much weed he’s smoked that day. He’s one of those fried ass mother fuckers who can’t function unless high. I react to him driving sober the way I would most friends driving messed up.
So, seriously, NEVER go back to her and tell everyone you know she sucks. Tattooing works on word of mouth more than anything man. It’s why my artist is so good to me–I hand out dozens of his cards every month and send customers by the bus load his way. The opposite is true too. A shop can sink if enough people bad mouth them.

Hi
I quite like the Celtic Knots that KH put up.
Other ideas;
Based on the early Christian faith you could perhaps get the fish symbol, with the Greek XPICTOC (Jesus) in the centre.
You could extend the tattoo with a scroll of devotional text.
Tribal/abstract based cross and chalice.
It would help if you let us know what yoiu had in mind as I have dozens of ideas but hard when you have nothing to go on ๐

I dont plan on ever going back, atleast not for her. My girl likes another artist that works there, which her stuff doesnt look bad but I dont even think I was any of them getting near me. Found someone named amber I am going to keep an eye on for a while to see what her work looks like, and by the time I know what I want I should know if she is any good or not.
I like all the ideas so far. Any problem is a celtic knot it suppose to be all inner connected, not quite sure how to incorporate my close off Triquetra into something like that without just starting something new.
I would like to stay away from any designs depicting a cross, as I am planning to get a cross designed by my mother on my back.
All I know for sure as far as what I want is to add some shading in some way to it, and the idea of staying towards religious faith isnt a bad idea. Of course if there is something good off of it, thatll work to. In other words, im clueless. ๐
