i have a lake around 3 acreas big it’s not that deep compared to other lake though. But every year i go i catch about 100’s of these fish and 20 or so bass.(my lake is over poulated) but this year we caught tons of large mouth bass and not a single panfish this year, and we caught about 4 times the amount of largemouth bass this year. This lake ins in new york and it has been hot this season does that have anything to do with it.
you answered your own question — large mouth bass.
No, bass are ferocious predators. You can almost think of them as the shark of freshwater. They have eaten your panfish and thrived. However, this is not necessarily a good thing. The problem is now their food source is low, there numbers will settle back to whatever the lake can sustain. There are a number of things you can do. Check with your local fish and game office to get details on how to manage this lake to what you want.
Hays 101 is correct!
The Bass have eaten your panfish! You should check with your local Game & Fish or DNR for info regarding fish management.
